GENERAL
NAME: London Bridget Holloway
NICKNAMES: Loni or Londi. But NOT Donny because that sounds like a boy name.
Her family calls her Beans on Toast, or Beans for short, AND IT IS MORTIFYING!!!!
AGE/DOB: 15 / December 31, 1998 / Capricorn
BLOOD STATUS: Halfsies
GENDER/PRONOUNS: Female, she/her
SEXUALITY: Boy crazy, but it’s a small school, and she may move on to girl crazy when she runs out of boys. Only time will tell
HOMETOWN: Turtle River, Minnesota. A speck of a town in Northern Minnesota which hides a larger wizarding community and the main Owl Post distribution hub for the Great Lakes region. Turtle River has been trying to convince people that it's 'The Olympus of the North', but it's mostly government employees who willingly endure the harsh Minnesota winters.
CONCEPT: Wannabe paparazzo is looking flawless, like her dreams.
PHYSICAL
APPEARANCE: London’s favorite colors are pastels, primarily pink, blue, and yellow. Even though her cutsie style isn’t always to everyone’s taste, she does always manage to look put together. Her clothes fit well, and they’re high quality. She’s very careful of them, and gets upset when they get torn or stained.
She typically curls her blond hair and wears more exaggerated styles of glasses than her sister, favoring cat eye frames. Her favorite pair are bedazzled.
Though she’s from Northern Minnesota (her accent will never leave any doubts there), she has a more olive skintone than one might expect due to her latina heritage via her paternal grandmother.
HEIGHT: 5’10
PB: Victoria Vida
PERSONALITY
LIKES: Gossip, makeup, fashion magazines, romantic sunsets, photography, taking juicy pictures, jewelry, boys, talking about boys, pink, scrapbook supplies, planners
DISLIKES: Being left of secrets, sharing small spaces, Spriggan Scouts, people wishing her 'Happy Birthday' on Paris's birthday
PERSONALITY:
London talks to everyone, always, all the time. She just never seems to run out of words, don’t’cha know! She seems like a cutesie chatterbox with her nose in everyone’s business and… well, yeah.
Is is possible to be in love with love? London is boy crazy, and she loves to talk about boys (or girls! if her friends are into that!), who should match with who, and what the ideal date would be like. She takes every magazine quiz she can get her hands on, and she daydreams about weddings.
Everything is better on a schedule! Despite the fact that she has an excellent memory, London keeps binders, journals, and schedules. She is an obsessive chronicler, jotting things down with hearts over the I's and doodled daisy borders. She is never without her beloved bullet journal. She has multiple scrapbooks. She keeps a very chic planner. However, perhaps her most beloved collection is her secret scrapbook, the one where she stores her best pictures. Not technically or artistically best, but the juiciest ones. She collects pictures of her classmates in embarrassing or compromising situations, particularly romantic ones. Each picture has notes about time, place, and romantic entanglements involved.
There is no such thing as “not London’s business” as far as she is concerned. She is a gossip-aholic, and nothing drives her as mad as knowing that someone has a secret she isn’t privy to. If you don’t believe it, ask her siblings. For all her complaints of privacy, she spent much of her childhood invading theirs. No journal or hiding spot was safe, no pocket left unchecked, no brooding pout left unquestioned. She has gotten subtler (barely), and doesn’t actually raffle through her roommate’s belongings, but her curiosity is an insatiable thirst.
London has a flashbang temper: sudden, disorienting, and then gone. It’s easy to rile her up, and easy to offend her, but while her reaction may seem exaggerated, it isn’t long lasting. If she seeks vengeance, it’s immediate, sloppy, and minimal, but more than likely, she’s over it too fast to act, and has definitely forgotten what she was mad about by the next day.
While she can’t hold onto a grudge, London sure can hold onto jealousy. She is often stacking herself and her life and her accomplishments up to others’, and often feels like she got the short end of the stick. This leads her to be needlessly competitive, often about strange stuff. Oh, who cares who wins the quidditch cup? On the other hand, she will get super into who can hoop the most hula hoops at one time, which house has the most pets, or which set of siblings can win a three legged race. She seeks niche areas where she can come out on top.
SKILLS
LANGUAGES SPOKEN: English. A smattering of Spanish vocabulary that she thinks she can use at random to fool people into thinking she's fluent, but really, she's not even good enough at it to fool people who speak no Spanish at all.
PATRONUS: Cannot cast a corporeal patronus.
SKILLS:
· Photography: London began photography as a child in Spriggan Scouts, disposable cameras in hand, and to her parents surprise, stuck with it ever since. She has a keen eye, and better equipment than a disposable camera now.
· Scrapbooking: The scrapbook came later, as a byproduct of London's love of photography and her inclination towards office supplies and crafts. Besides, she had to do SOMETHING with all the pictures she was taking, and it began with home made scrapbooks of her family and her troop.
· Makeup: London treats teen magazines almost like a bible, and she absorbs their knowledge like a sponge. A makeup sponge, in fact.
· Dressing well on a budget: London takes an interest in fashion, but the Holloways aren't exactly rolling in dough. She learned young that she had to make do with turning what she had fabulous. Despite her age, she uses phrases like "staple pieces" unironically.
· Mending clothing: London spends a long time coveting items of clothing, saving up money, and begging her parents to buy the rest. When you put that much effort into something, you learn to make it last.
· Gossiping: Maybe it's not fair to call this a skill, except to say that if repeatedly practicing an action turns it into a skill, she must have it.
· Basic outdoor survival skills: London was never a die hard Spriggan Scout the way her sister was; she preferred making friendship bracelets to digging in the dirt. Still, she was a scout for years, and she did absorb a lot of what she was taught. It was a good preparation for camp school, anyway.
HISTORY
FAMILY MEMBERS:
·Malloreigh Holloway: Mother. Half-blood. Part-time Graphic Designer, though her real passion is her art. It just doesn’t pay the bills.
·Ramiro Holloway: Father. Half-blood. Recently appointed Deputy Owlmaster of the Great Lakes region.
·Paris Holloway: Twin sister. Ebonhide Sophomore. Pear Bear is best with a little distance between them.
·Dresden Holloway: Sister. Coppertale Freshman. May have been possessed by a demon before they even got to this school.
·Yancey Montgomery: Half-brother. Ribbonfin Senior. He gets his OWN ROOM and a FANCY, RICH PARENT.
HISTORY:
[For additional family history, see Yancey Montgomery.]
On New Year's Eve in 1998, Malloreigh Holloway was not enjoying getting trashed with her friends. In the final minutes of the year, she was giving birth to her daughter, London. Her other daughter, Paris, was late to the party and didn't arrive until after the ball had dropped. (This caused quite the conundrum when the girls were old enough for classmates to play the "What year were you born in?" game.)
Nine months earlier, neither Malloreigh nor Ramiro would have guessed they'd be welcoming twin girls into the world but "sometimes these things happen." And sometimes they actually work out? Despite only dating for a short period of time and a child in the mix from Malloreigh's first marriage, they decided to give the whole marriage thing a shot. The combined incomes of a part-time artist and a post owlery clerk weren't anything to get excited about, but they were able to obtain a mortgage and a modestly sized home just in time to start preparing a nursery for their third daughter's arrival.
What was modestly sized when the twins were barely toddlers quickly became cramped as they got older, and throughout all the room shuffling, as nursery was converted to little boy's room, the one constant was that London and Paris were always together. After all, they were twins, so it would be cruel to separate them! They wore all the same clothes (and squabbled constantly over whose identical pink shirt was whose), they went all the same places (because they were at the mercy of large humans who could pick them up and move them as desired), they were just two adorable peas in a pod, don'tcha know?
Two peas in a small pod. Two peas that WERE different, thank-you-very-much. Both girls looked forward to starting day school, the opportunity to get away from the crowded family home! Make new friends! Do new things! It worked about as well as could be expected; the ended up in the same classes, with the same friends.
London’s interest in new activities was always intense, but fleeting. She wanted to do gymnastics, then she wanted to play the flute, then she wanted to do lacrosse, then she wanted to do dance. Her interests were too expensive, and too time consuming, to pursue without dedication. Maybe that’s how London got scooped into Spriggan Scouts. Paris had tenacity where London had indecision. And London didn’t hate it. She didn’t care much for plants, or showing off a badge collection. She liked the crafts, though, and getting to go swimming in lakes and sell cookies. And she liked sneaking her dad’s disposable cameras out of his bag when he brought them and taking pictures of their troup. She liked it so much, and did such a good job, that their dad appointed her the Official Troup Photographer. Unfortunately for Ramiro, he didn’t know what he was starting.
After years of being taunted by Yancey's empty bedroom every other week, it became a fulltime deal when he headed off to Ilvermorny when the twins were nine. For two years that bedroom stayed empty throughout the school year, and then finally it was their turn to head off to Ilvermorny. This was great! Seeing as how they were soooooo different, there was no way they could end up in the same house. Except.. they did. One twin to Wampus, then the other, and the curse of sharing the same room continued.
The twins were together all the time. They took many of the same classes, did a lot of the same activities, and shared friends. Their friends and teachers often couldn’t tell them apart, and that’s when they even tried. They were just Paris-and-London. They loved each other, of course, but it was too much. Like that empty bedroom, the appeal of space and a separate identity taunted them. Unbeknownst to each other, and feeling a little guilty about it, both girls applied to Gooseberry.
And they both got in. It was exciting and frustrating and at least neither of them had to discuss the guilt of trying to leave the other one behind.
London got to be sorted first (again - thank you, alphabetical order!) and emerged a chipper new Azurcrest. She held her breath while Paris was sorted, worried she’d be in Azurcrest too (and a little scared if she wasn’t). Then it was over, and she let out a sigh of relief. Sure, they still had a lot of the same classes and made a lot of the same friends, but once curfew struck each night, they were as far away from each other as possible. It was a small victory and totally worth it.
SCHOOL
YEAR: Sophomore (Grade 10)
HOUSE: Azurcrest; previously Wampus
SORTING: London LOVED the sorting. As soon as she went in, the emblems were so nice and so complimentary!! She twirled her hair and listened to them tell her all the reasons she was amazing and they wanted her in their house. Rather than help them in any way, she did her best to keep the conversation going. Coppertale and Azurcrest were the strongest, but in the end, Londi cheerfully chose Azurcrest.
WAND: Rowan, fairy wing, 11”.
FAMILIAR: Gerbil named Felicia.

· History of Magic
· Potions
· Transfiguration
· Aesthetic Magic
· Artificing
· Magical Rudiments
· Divination
ADVANCED STUDY: Divination
Considering the Holloway twins definitely already have twin senses (no, they really don’t), London is PRETTY SURE she might be a Seer? Or like half a Seer? She’s also so good at predicting who is going to date who. AND if she was a Seer, it would really help her future career as a
SENIOR PROJECT: TBD!!!
ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE: London isn’t a naturally gifted student. She does well with rote memorization, but she lacks in the critical thinking and analysis area. She does well in classes where she gets to work with a partner or a group, because at least she can turn her tendency to talk too much to a productive rather than distracting purpose. Still, her parents have impressed upon her the importance of her scholarship. This may be a weird ghost school, but it’s a good school, and they can’t afford to send four kids here without those scholarships. So with a lot of determination (and tutoring), London keeps her grades where they need to be.
